Coaching

If you are interested in coaching (head or assistant), and DID NOT note it when registering your child online, please email the appropriate grade coordinator.  Getting coaches always seems to be a difficult task.  Be a role model!  Please consider signing up to help. Your child will appreciate the time you spend with him.  An online coaching certification program is required of all coaches and parent helpers.

Trusted Coaches

WAA uses TRUSTED COACHES to provide training for required certifications. All training can be done online through Trusted Coaches. 

ALL Head coaches, Assistant coaches, and parent helpers will need to complete Trusted Coaches training, even if you have forms on file from another process, to be on the field.


Grade-level Coordinators will provide the WAA main office the names of all coaches along with their email addresses. 

 

Key Information - Read Before Completing Certifications

 There are 5 parts to Trusted Coaches

  • First Aid (15 minutes)
  • Child Safety (15 minutes)
  • Background Check (10 minutes)
  • Concussion (20 minutes)
  • InsideOut Coaching (60 minutes)

There are quizzes associated with these courses; you need a passing score of 80% in order to be certified. You can jump to the quizzes if you are knowledgeable with the content, but will need to take the quiz until you pass.  It is recommended that you watch all the videos. There is much valuable information contained within the videos; please do not skip.

 

To complete the Background check, you will need to upload a JPEG picture for the Trusted Coaches card.  Be prepared for that before you begin.  Once the background check is submitted, it will take 2-3 business days for it to be marked as "complete".  You will be notified, as will WAA.

 

The deadline to have this complete is 4/18 - prior to any practices. You cannot be on the field if this work is not done. 

 

All of the modules are valid for 3 years. You will be required to update your background check annually and potentially complete any new modules Trusted Coaches adds.
