2011-12 Wrestling Season
We are gearing up for our tenth season of youth wrestling with a BANG! New youth coach Jeremy Anderson takes over this year with a great pedigree in coaching. Jeremy was a two-time All-American wrestler at Augsburg College and a National Champion in 2007 and brings incredible enthusiasm and teaching skills to our program. We are excited to have him on board!
Registrations will be available for the 2011-12 season starting in August!
Folkstyle Wrestling
All wrestlers are encouraged to sign up for folkstyle wrestling. Emphasis will be placed on development of appropriate skills, strategy and technique. Physical fitness and conditioning will also be stressed in this session.
Wrestlers are strongly encouraged to participate in open tournaments on the weekends and to take advantage of other wrestling opportunities. Open tournaments are held nearly every weekend around the Twin Cities area.
The fee for Folkstyle Wrestling is $85. Practices will begin in early December.
Wrestlers who register for Folkstyle Wrestling may also participate in practices held for Introduction to Wrestling, which begin in October. The fee for only the Introduction to Wrestling program is $35.
Practices for Folkstyle will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:00-7:00 (grades K-2) and 7:00-8:30 (grades 3-5). Practices will begin in early December and conclude in early March. A schedule will be provided at the first practice.

Former WAA Wrestlers Qualify for 2011 MSHSL State Tournament
A pair of former WAA wrestlers qualified for the state HS tournament to be held March 4-5 at the XCel Energy Center in Saint Paul.
Congratulations to former WAA Wrestlers Justin Herold-Plakut (Section 4AAA Champion at 112 lbs) and Class AAA 5th Place winner Ben Donnelly.
