Tryout information

Tryouts

Tryouts will be held at Ojibway Park on Saturday, September 9th. We will have a practice tryout event on Friday, September 8th.

Our goal is to provide a tryout environment that is fair to all players and allows them to demonstrate their abilities to a group of neutral parities. The tryout drills are predetermined and are intended to demonstrate specific skills for the evaluators on a point scale.

Upon signing in at her age appropriate time, each girl will be assigned a number. She will then go into the complex to be evaluated.  Parents are not allowed inside the complex during the evaluation process. All evaluations are recorded based on the numbers assigned at check-in. Each girl will be evaluated in the following general skill areas: Infield, Outfield, Throwing, Catching & Hitting. Girls will have the option to tryout for pitcher & catcher positions upon completion of the general stations. The girls (based on the numbers assigned at the beginning of the process) are ranked based on their evaluations.

Off-season training

In 2024, we will have access to the M Fairview fieldhouse in Woodbury for winter training starting in January for all ages.

There will be a number of opportunities for pitching clinics after the start of the year with Woodbury Highschool.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Each player is asked to volunteer up to 4 hours at our traveling tournaments, clinics or other events during the Traveling season.

National Tournaments!

If teams qualify, they may be eligible to attend a national tournament (locally) where more then 100 teams play. In 2023, we had 9 teams attend!
