SPRING SOCCER PROGRAMS

OVERVIEW

In partnership with Woodbury Athletic Association, Salvo SC provides Spring community soccer training to players 5U to 12U.   

Community Soccer is geared to create a fun yet challenging environment. Our friendly and qualified staff will work with players and coaches using a player-centered approach. We aim to meet players and coaches where they are in their development.

All age groups will meet twice per week. At the 5U & 6U levels, the players will do 30 minutes of training and 30 minutes of scrimmage play at each session. For all other age groups, one session per week will be training, and the other session will be a game.

2023 SPRING SEASON

Spring Community begins the week of May 1 and ends ON June 16.

Each age group will meet twice per week. Coaches are parent volunteers who receive training and weekly coaching plans by Salvo SC staff. Team formation begins once registration closes.

Registration closes April 1st or whenever all spots are filled, whichever comes first. All registrations received after April 1st will incur a $15 late fee.

Spring Community+

Program Overview

Our Spring Community+ program is for players 8-9 years old who plan to transition to our Performance Soccer program. 

Community+ Soccer is geared to create a fun yet challenging environment. Our friendly and qualified staff will work with players on some of the following concepts:

  • Dribbling with all parts of the feet
  • 1v1, stop and start, turns, and other soccer-related techniques
  • Passing and receiving
  • Scrimmages/Games

Our Community+ players will train one extra night each week with a Salvo SC National Youth License coach. They will also play with other clubs during the season.

Salvo Soccer Club utilizes an academy-style training program for our Community+ Program exclusively on Friday nights.  

 

All age groups will attend 3 sessions each week.  One session will be team training, one session will be academy-style age group training, and one session will be a game.  There will also be 1-2 additional events with other clubs throughout the season.

Team Schedule

Each player will be assigned to a team and coach before the beginning of the season. The schedule below is for meetings with that team. The first meeting of the week (Monday or Tuesday) will be a practice, the second meeting (Wednesday or Thursday) will be a game.

Friday schedule

Below is the third meeting of each week for Community + players. Players will arrive on Fridays, be split into random groupings, and be coached for that session by a Salvo staff coach.
