WINTER SEASON OVERVIEW
In partnership with Woodbury Athletic Association, Salvo SC provides Winter recreation soccer training to players U5-U8 at the M Health Fairview Sports Center Fieldhouse.
Recreation Soccer is geared to create a fun yet challenging environment. Our friendly and qualified staff will work with players on some of the following concepts using the Play-Practice-Play Method:
- Dribbling with all parts of the feet
- 1v1, stop and start, turns, and other soccer-related techniques
- Passing and receiving
- Scrimmages/Games
The Winter Recreation Soccer season is split into three session with two day options per session. Each session is 6 weeks in length
Each day when the players arrive they will all be in one large group and then will be split up into groups by counting them off. This does mean that groups will be different each day. This allows for groups to shift based on size or skill level or whatever is necessary to make groups most beneficial for each player. We do not accept buddy requests in the winter.

FAQs
When will I receive infomation about my session?
Information will be send to your email(s) provided in your registration 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the session.
What to expect on day 1
On day 1, you will enter the M Health Fairview Sports Center Field House. You will find Salvo Soccer Club employees at a table to check in your player(s) and pick up their jersey. After checking in, we kindly ask you remain outside the field house/off the field until your scheduled time due to permit restrictions. Thank you for helping us respect the time allocated to other age group, sports, and clubs on the field.
What to Wear/Bring
- Jersey (given to you on the first day)
- Shin guards
- Soccer socks
- Soccer cleats or tennis shoes
- Soccer ball (size 3) - make sure your name is on it!
- Water bottle
WHERE IS SOCCER?
Sessions are held in the Fieldhouse at M Health Fairview Sports Center in Woodbury; it is climate controlled, but we recommend players dress in layers as it can be chilly!
Seating is not provided. Parents/guardians are encouraged to bring their own chairs for use inside the facility.
Who Coaches Winter Recreational Soccer?
Coaching staff members from Salvo Soccer Club will lead the indoor recreation sessions.
