Junior Programs

Junior Program Information

Junior Volleyball is youth competitive volleyball that is played in the United States. USA Volleyball is the governing body for youth volleyball.  We play in the North Country Region. It is the largest region by numbers with over 13,000 girls registered at all ages.

The Woodbury Volleyball Club is a local, community club.  We strive to provide girls excellent coaching and the opportunity to play at a higher level, all at a reasonable price.

11s Volleyball Program

Program Information

  • The 11s program will run from December into March
  • Grade Level: 4th & 5th grade
  • There are NO tryouts
  • Team will be capped at no more than 12 players (there is an opportunity to add a second team if there’s enough interest)
  • Playing time will be as close to equal as possible
  • Practices will be once per week with earliest times as possible, usually at Woodbury Middle School, lasting about two hours
    • Please note: Since the practices are at public schools, there isn’t a guarantee that the night will never change. There may be times when the practice day and time will change due to school and Community Education needs.
  • 11s play in the East Metro 11s league coordinated by the Rosemount Irish
  • The League will include around 5 play dates and a final tournament, projected to be in March.   Usually all with am starts, and finishing earlier afternoon.
  • Games will be arranged with other metro area clubs of similar age and play dates/tournaments could be Saturdays and/or Sundays
  • You can find up to date info on the 11s East Metro site at http://www.rosemountjovolleyball.org/eml
  • The 11s will not travel out of the metro area
  • The program fee information is below
  • **This program, East Metro 11s, is looking for new management, so we may have to join another league; most likely Northern Lights Power League and dates may vary. I am hopeful this will be figured out so we will not have to switch**

12s - 17s Volleyball Program

Program Information

  • The season will begin in November with tryouts and end in either late March or April, depending on the tournament scheduling
  • Each team consists of 10-12 girls and we will not form partial teams
  • Junior volleyball is a competitive sport and cuts are sometimes necessary
  • Teams will practice twice a week, normally two hours per practice
  • Each team will participate in weekend tournaments on approximately ten different dates during the season
  • Teams will play in one out-of-town overnight tournament
    • The entry fee for the tournament will be covered by the program fee, but accommodations for each team will be organized by the team manager (a parent volunteer) and will be the responsibility of the families
  • The program fee information is below

General tryout information

  • Tryouts are for 12s-17s.
  • Dates are posted on the tryout page!
  • It is required that all girls attend the evaluated tryout for specified tryout registration.
  • Tryouts are closed to everyone except coaches and evaluators.
  • Tryout results will be posted as soon as they are available.
  • Once tryout results have been posted, all players must accept their position on a team by completing the Program Registration within 24 hours.
  • All girls may tryout and play up in age groups 14-16. If you tryout out at a higher age level you do run the risk of not making your actual age group as those teams will be filled the night of that tryout.
  • Players may also be asked to “play up” by the coaches of older teams if that team is in need of more girls, or specific positions filled. No player will be forced to “play up”

Please arrive at the gym 20-25 minutes early for check-in on the date(s) of your tryout.

  • At check-in, the girls will receive a tryout t-shirt and be assigned a tryout number.
  • All girls must wear the tryout shirt during both days of tryouts.
  • No personalized items can be used. This is mandatory.
